HELLO ECUMASTER!

The student racing team Race-Ing. has existed at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering since 2005. Due to the wide range of tasks in this racing team, the project has since been extended to other faculties. Alongside their studies, the students develop and design a single-seater racing car with which they will compete against teams from all over the world in the Formula Student design competition.

In this project, the students gain important practical experience and learn how to apply the lecture material to real-life problems.

Our University of Applied Sciences supports the Race-Ing. team not only with financial resources but also with workrooms, laboratory and workshop capacities. We would be very pleased if you would also support the outstanding commitment of the students with a sponsorship contribution.

YOUR ECU´s Are our way to go

Last season we got introduced to you at the Motorsport Expo on Cologne. Right there you convinced us to go with the EMUBlack. We haven’t had a regret about that decision since then.

For our next car we’ll go for a PRO-8, the PMU-16, your wireless steering system and a CAN switch board.

At our engine dyno we’ll use two additional Lambda to CAN converters and a great range of sensors.

You probably know what Formula Student is. If not, here is a short explanation:

Formula Student is an international competition for students from over 500 universities worldwide. The venues are spread all over the world. Competitions in Europe, for example, take place on the race tracks in England (Silverstone), Italy (Varano), the Netherlands (Assen), Austria (Spielberg) and Germany (Hockenheim). The latter has developed into a showcase event in Europe in recent years under the patronage of the Association of German Engineers (VDI). The students’ task is to design and produce a formula racing car in accordance with strict regulations and present it to a panel of experts from industry and business.

THE TEAM

The Race-Ing. team at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts is an association of over 20 committed students from various degree programmes, including vehicle development, mechanical engineering, computer science, business administration, energy management, electrical engineering, design and architecture.

Since the team was founded in 2005, we have been “graduating at full throttle” and, true to the motto of our university of applied sciences “The short path from theory to practice”, we apply what we have learnt in theory and deepen important soft skills.
